Serge...are the Sashas harder to drive than the Sophia 2s?

Cyril, the Sophia 2 is 86dB and the Sasha is 91dB efficient... Many would say the Sasha must be an easier speaker to drive. I don't think that is the case. Based on my own findings, it is not so much the efficiency of the speaker which for many speakers seems to be off the mark anyways once measured by stereophile , it is the impedance characteristics of the speaker that matter more. The Sophia 2 is 4 ohm nominal with a dip to 3 ohm, the Sasha is 4 ohm with a dip to 1.8.

In my own system, I have not noticed any significant changes with the preamp volume settings, both speakers required very similar settings to produce roughly equal volume/loudness in my room.

What I did notice is that my M1.2s are much happier with their bias setting set to low (1-6) ohm setting while the Sophia 2 allowed the M1.2s to sing along with either the low or the high (7-16) ohm setting.

So in my opinion, yes, Sasha is a more demanding speaker even if it is more efficient overall.

I am trying to find that other in depth review with technical information of Sasha from overseas but can't seem to find it.

PHC1,

HiFi Critic did an excellent review last December.
The review is posted here. Scroll down a few reviews. It's a pdf file.

it's posted on Wilson's web site under Reviews. I am assuming you are talking about this one from Hifi+ in the UK...

I think they were also reviewed in Hi Fi News or Hi Fi Choice, let me look back.

i found it through this distributor that posts the reviews of the various products it carries. you can download the Hifi Critic review of the Sashas from here. I haven't read it yet but it looks quite lengthy and has a lot of the technical test results. Enjoy: Press Room

tons of other reviews as well. There is one for ARC Ref 5 from Hifi News, ARC Ref 2 from Hifi Choice, DarTzeel CTH-8550 from Hifi Choice and so on.
