Default Wilson at CES 2010

Wilson Audio: Events: CES 2010

Here we have 3 videos...

1) A video of Dave and wife accepting the award for Speaker of The Year (Maxx 3).

2) A video of different manufacturers (including Vlad Lamm) giving testimonials concerning Wilson Audio. (Interesting that Vlad says he didn't care for Wilson till he heard them on what he considered to be well engineered gear, furthering the assertion that though the transducer is perhaps the most important piece in the puzzle, upstream compromises will affect the sound quality.)

3) A video of Dave speaking of the virtues of the Polaris.

Dave always amazes me with his knowledge of the history of sound. Proof that he is passionate about what he does in my mind, and not simply punching a clock as so many others do.

My only question concerning this is image height. Could the speakers being below the screen image over the screen?

It depends on the axis of the mids' and tweeter's acoustic centers. If the tweeter is tilted back far enough(which is appears to be), it can create an elevated soundstage.

Had to do the same thing for my Watch center channel. Placed it on a custom made Sound Anchors stand to get it off of the floor and have not had an issue with image placement at all.

"Alongside Alexandria and Maxx Series 3, Polaris is now the third Wilson Audio loudspeaker to feature Aspherical Propagation Delay which allows an unprecendented control of both time domain and dispersion characteristics to achieve increased soundstage width, height, and depth, as well as better tonal coherence and accuracy."

Aspherical Propagation Delay Wilson Audio: Alexandria: Aspherical Propagation Delay

I think Dave Wilson has it covered. The concept of using Polaris as main speakers is now on their website. Wilson Audio: Polaris: As a Low Profile Music System
