Hi there all. I'm new to HT set up and I'm having exact same issue are yours. Did you ever figure how to fix this noise?

Hi RTan,

It boiled down to the actual box! The DirecTV DVR box (HR22-100 iirc) and the spinning HDD + fan was causing the noise. As soon as we swapped for just a standard HD box (no DVR) everything cleared up.

Hopefully the new boxes (and with no B-Band converter) are better routed/shielded. Unfortunately, the Marantz AV7005 is severely prone to all sorts of EMI, but when it works, it's beautiful.

It's seems like all my sources connected to av7005 is contributing to the noise. PJ, BDP, and of course DTv DVR. I don't where to start tweaking? I got cheater plugs for both PJ and BRP it cut the noise about a third. Any other suggestion before swapping the av7005 to something else?

Try capping unused RCA inputs on your amps and the Marantz.

Try swapping from XLR to RCA (or vice-versa) between the Marantz and your amp(s).

Try unplugging the satellite RG6 feeds and see if that completely eliminates the hum - if it does you may have a dish grounding problem.

To really go piece by piece, I unplugged everything and started back with just Marantz+Amps+Power. Then as I added piece by piece to see what may be the cause.

Are you on dedicated AC?

I tried unplugging all the gears and plugging them back one at a time. Noise decrease but the next morning noise level seems back to normal.

I will try capping the extra RCA's and see what happens. I have to buy a lot. Hate this route. Any loaner out there?

I did not notice any improvement by swithcing XLR to RCA.

Yes, I got total of 6 dedicated line. Could this be the problem area?

One expert told me that. Using the pass through between C50 and AV7005 will always cause some hum noise.

I got no noise when using just the 2 channel via C50, Marantz power off.

Hope this help a little.

Well, the purpose of the unplug and replug is to see the source of the problem. Once you identify the source you can try to remedy.
