I was lucky and got the Elipsas second- hand a couple of years ago, production number 50! And I bought them from a guy in my own town here in Norway! They replaced my Kef Q7s hehe..at first I wondered what the hell I had done..it was not that much of an improvement even considering I had paid nearly half the price for them..but my other gear was in the league of the Kefs..so I went back to the seller of the Elipsas and bought his Ayre C5-xe also hehe..but still not entirely pleased. Then I got an Accuphase E-550 second- hand: Big improvement. And then Audioquest Volcano cables: Another big improvement. And now I have some locally made cables that are much better than the Audioquest. (They are considered among the best in the world.) So the flatness of the Elipsa sound has really given place to a 3- dimensional magic carpet of solid sound behind and in front of the speakers.. (but occassionally they still sound a bit flat..)

David,

Congrats on your new purchase.
The Elipsa look terrific.
Enjoy them in good health.

Can't wait to see yours Bought mine last September, and my Elipsas are sounding wonderfully these days. Out of the box they will sound muddy and congested, but now they are quite impressive. They take some time to open up, so give yours at least 3 months.
