Seems like this speaker is overshadowed by the SF strads and the lower priced Elipsa. Any owners of the Elipsa bother comparing these two speakers? What made you decide on the Elipsa over the Amati's ?

The Amati Annversario's are not in the Cremona line rather in the Homage line. They weigh 40kg per pair more, use larger woofers, and specs say go to 24hz rather than 40hz. Also, the cost about double.

I've heard them once. Nice speakers, obviously more potent down low than the SF GM's but I'd hunt down a pair of Strads though before I'd settle for the Amati's.
The Strads are even more majestic in their presentation and have a slightly more richer tone overall which can be very addicting in the right system. The comparison to the Amati vs Elipsa is sort of a darker lager vs a lighter beer.

I think comparing the Amati and Strad's would have a similar result of comparing the Cremona M's to the Elipsa's. The Strads and Elipsa's would be present a larger and more musical soundstage but some would prefer the slightly "faster" sound of more traditional speaker.

Quote:
The SF speakers manage to tame the cool and crisp tonal balance of Krell and really thrive on the bottom end control and slam of Krell. Every time I drop by my dealer's place and sit down to listen to Krell/Elipsa, I say to myself, I can live with that combo if I ever had to take a step down from Lamm/Wilson combo.

I did consider the Amati Annirversario when I purchase the GM. The only reason I didn't go for the Amati is because it is too big for our living room.
