Congrats Big Air. I've heard Moon gear with SF although not Amati. It was a very enjoyable pairing. Enjoy!

Whilst it is nice looking at the new speakers - it is VERY frustrating not having them plugged in and running yet!!

Those are very nice speakers and all of the Simaudio gear I have heard or owned has been top notch.

Hi

I'm not sure quite what you mean by the 'story' behind them?!

If it's simply how I ended up getting them .... well .....

2 1/2 years a go I had a motorbike accident (not my fault) and just received an injury payment, having lost 70% of the use of my right arm. [Shattered shoulder and 3 operations later ..... it's a bit of a mess]

Having gone through such an ordeal I decided to treat myself to something special in the hi-fi realm, as it's been a love since I was 18 and got my first separates system.

Until recently I had a Moon i5, with SF Grand Piano (Home) and Ayre C-5xe. I always liked the Moon/SF pairing, but was aware that there might be another brand combo that blew me away - so I set about listening to lots of kit over the past few months. Most of which left me pretty disappointed.

I then returned to my local shop to go higher up the Moon / SF ranges and at first thought I may go for Elipsa's .... until he put the Amati's on for a bit of 'fun' before I left the shop...... I was hooked and ended up going back for 2 further dem's just with them, to be sure.

I found a pair of Palladio's at a different shop, but by the time my insurance payment arrived I thought I had missed them, so spoke to my normal dealer who discovered the last pair still in the Factory - which are the ones I now have!

They are stunning and I eagerly await my amps - hopefully tomorrow, so I can actually do more than just enjoy looking at them!

Nig
