I just got three Cobra cords and compared them to Anaconda CX and the Cobra does sound a bit leaner with more emphasis on the mids and highs. The Cobra paints a picture with sharp edges while the Anconda tends to round things off a bit. The cobra is a very good cord but like many cables, it's system dependent For me, I prefer the Anaconda CX over the Cobra.

We're talking gradiations here...
At 3X the price of Cobra I guess they should be!
The layering depth and image outline made KS Emotion seem
a tad 2D and more mid rangey colored.
Dealer doesn't carry Python Zetron to demo
Did A/B on CD player and MC402 amp.
If I get one will probably put on amp.

I'm using Cobra Zitrons also. I suggest you let the cables break in a bit before you make a decsion. If you don't like them, I need 2 more. Let me know. Thanks, Jim

The cords were purchased as used so they had some hours of them. They were used for a couple of months. In any case, the cords worked really well in my father's system so they are now in his system. I did keep one for myself.

Few wiser words are spoken... cables are really system dependent... especially once you get to this level... mine have been in for just over 5 weeks 24/7.

Maggies have treble and mid resistors exactly because they can be a touch hot at the top end if things aren't right... mine run naked without attenuation which has meant I've had to make sure the system doesn't have any mid/treble issues. I swear I run at the first sign of treble glare.

Revealing yes, tipped up?... not what I'm hearing at all at this end but this is only relative to the gear I am running... will wait till the Hydra has swapped out for a cyclops due shortly (touch wood)... the cobra certainly makes me love music more though... the vivid, subtle timbres that are coming through that silence are just mesmerising. My experience lines up with Penthouse... I know Kev (bzr) has some more of these going into his system as well so plenty more experiences on the way.

Next week I'm picking up 3 used King Cobras - 2 for the amps and 1 for Triton as well as one Anaconda CX for the preamp. What do you guys think would be the best cord for my CD player? A new Python ZTron? I found the old Python a bit colored (it made the music sound very pleasant in a McIntosh way but didn't have enough clarity and tonal purity).

I also compared the new Cobra Zi-tron powercord and the Anaconda CX on my ARC Ref 3.
The Cobra was really fast and accurate but i prefered the Anaconda CX.
It had some analog magic going on. It was more natural and pleasant sounding than the Cobra. Also the soundstage was more wide.

Now i'm wondering what the Python Zi-tron will do.
Does anyone here have experienced the Python Zi-tron in comparison with the Anaconda CX or the Cobra Zi-tron?

Greetings from The Netherlands,
Sander

I've compared the Anaconda Zitron with the Cobra Zitron in a limited capacity given the product configuration offered on loan.

Given where I am at with existing cables in my system, I wouldn't consider anything less than Anaconda in/out of my existing Cyclops'.

Sander....As you are a Dutchman, you are fortunate enough to have the formidable Edwin van der Kleij of Siltech as a fellow countryman. Those hills & mountains in your parts do glisten with Rubies....

Thanx for the warm welcome. 🙏
And yes, we are very proud of Edwin's Siltech and his wife who makes Crystal Cables.

Finally, I have chance to try new Zitron AC cable.
this is connect to SACD Transport.
My current Anaconda CX give a more romantic sound, tube-like, sweeter, treble is rather mute, while loan Pyhton Zitron is more transparent, faster, treble is not rolled off, also hear more low level details in recording. Somehow my Anaconda CX sounds easier and warmer sound. Solution? I have to try Anaconda Zitron to hear will it have the best of both world.
This is not to say that Python Zitron is lean. not at all, just Anaconda CX is very warm and lush, may be less accurate sounding than Zitron cable.
At the end I have 2 ooptions, keep Ana CX and buy Pyhton Z for alternate use. Or sell Ana CX to buy Ana Zitron, if Ana Zitron proved the best of both world.
