Default PPP and Noise?

Just wondering how much noise that the ppp is supposed to filter out of the power line. My system is: outlet-> rgpc substation-> rgpc 1200C-> PPP-> Plasma TV (Pioneer 60" Kuro). When someone gets ice out of the refrigerator ice maker, I get alot of noise/static that shows up on the TV.. Am I hooking something up wrong or is this setup not really designed to keep out the line noise?

Are you on a dedicated line Joe?

It's not a dedicated line, however, it doesn't seem like that much interference would make it through that much line conditioning. It makes me wonder if I went overboard and expected too much from what I've heard about the performance of RGPC and the PPP...

A dedicated line makes all the difference. I first put in dedicated lines over 40 years ago, in a far less complicated system, and the difference was huge. The voltage, level of THD's can be bad enough on a dedicated line but add some dimmers along the way and refrigerators, etc. and you have a mess for the PPP's and RGPC's to work with. They are wonderful pieces of equipment, give them a fair chance to perform their magic.

Why would you need a dedicated line if the PPP regenerates the AC? Shouldn't the regeneration take out the noise? That is touted as what makes the PPP functionally different from a "normal" surge/noise eliminator.

There are other ways for noise to be introduced into audio equipment, including radio frequency interference (RFI). Noise can also travel on grounded conductors, and grounding conductors. Unshielded cables, both interconnects and speaker wire, can act as antennas. Electromagnetic interference (EMI), the undesirable electromagnetic emission from power cords, arcing motor armatures, transformers, etc., can cause noise. It will take at detailed process of elemination to figure out the causes, and how to solve the noise problems.
