Thank you for the info Ryan. Scott was very receptive to my problem and is taking immediate action. Krell told me there is a fuse inside near the power supply, so hoping this will cure all and there is no permanent damage. Scott suggests I replace the fuse and we can assess from there. Well.... a bunch a of grey hairs and a few fuses later my system survived . Thank you guys for the fast replies. I stuck the old panamax in there while waiting on the PPP repair and I can tell the system is slightly brighter, so I am looking forward to getting it back. There have been some upgrades to it since I purchased it so I am thinking any small quarks I have encountered are resolved. Since I was told that what happened is rare and my system survived a big hit I feel confident in putting the PPP back in there.

I did find it interesting that I was told that a plasma puts a lot of strain on the PPP. You never stop learning about this stuff.

Certainly not what I would consider "fail safe" protection from this product. I could care less about regeneration, I'm looking for protection.
I've got 30k of audio and video gear plugged into this PPP.
I've never heard of anything like this with an RGPC product.
Why should I have any further confidence in this product?

Brad.......I can understand the uneasiness over worrying about the possibility of an impending problem with a Power Plant Premier feeding your gear. I have four PPP's feeding a fair amount of expensive gear, too, but I don't believe a single PPP failure is cause for any drastic change in my system's power scheme. Equipment failures happen. As far as fail safe protection is concerned, I don't think anything is truly fail safe, although I am certain there are some products engineered to have more tiers of redundant protection before catastrophic meltdown. The question is, at what cost?

All the best protection at the wall won't protect your high dollar speakers from damage should a high powered amplifier's protection circuitry fail during some type of electronic failure within the amp. Hopefully these built in protection devices will work when necessary, but if not, we suffer the consequences. Any number of audio signal failures can create havoc with our systems, as well. Basically, we take our chances every time we press the power button.

I too am glad to hear that Omerta's gear came through unscathed. Also good you have a back up unit-the old Panamax. In spite of all the panamax bashing here (yes I know it's all good natured ) I'd say one thing in their defense-I once took a pretty good hit here-frying a microwave, a light dimmer or three, and some decorative lighting fixtures-and one Panamax 1000+. However the unit apparently did its job on the protective side as my gear came through fine. The Panamax 1000+ was replaced at no charge.

That said, I still hope to one day add a PPP to my system.
