If you have time to read the May PS Audio Newsletter Paul McGowan touches on the issues PS Audio and McIntosh have run into during the economic downturn.

If you’re not in the business you might not be aware that there’s a worldwide shortage of electronic parts caused by the global economic meltdown. These parts delays were the reason why so many of you had to wait on DLIII DACS, Power Plant Premiers and PerfectWave DACS. We’re scrambling to find alternate sources for these parts and should be ok, but it’s going slower than we had anticipated and for reasons we could not have predicted.

The new PPP arrived today.

Thanks to Scott's extra efforts I did not have to wait a lot longer due to the fact that black PPP's are like gold and have a long waiting list. I have some music playing but no time to seriously listen right now so I will let it settle in for half a day calibrate it and listen tonight. It feels good to have the PPP and the python CX in front of the system again. Everything is back to normal.

Yes all is well. Come to think about it, all is better that well. This PPP has the same input THD reading as my last one but it cuts it down to 0.5% while the one that failed only brought it down to 1.0%. I listened for a while and am very pleased with what I hear and expect it to smooth out further after 100 hours. I am lucky to live in an area where there are many high end audio places in a 70 mile range. There is only one system that I prefer over mine and it had the same front end but Maxx3 speakers. Did I think the Wilson's were worth $50000 more than I paid for what I have......Hell NO, but I could not find a flaw while listening to them.
