I truly wish that we had a good review of these components here...

Jerry's reviews are always excellent but I do not think that he got to spend enough time with his before the renovation began...

Something tells me that they are NOT living up to the hype.

And.. I for one, was hoping that they would.

I would love a small PWD/active speaker combo...

I passed on the beta tester offer from PS. The discount was $2k for the combo. Perhaps these sellers were beta tester?

The PWT/PWD combo does sound nice.

As mentioned before, if there are any nitpicking, would have been the tray and the capability to play SACD as well plus the screen (can be like the iPhone type instead of the current "softer" plastic).

As for the combo being sold, like DJ said, they could have been from the "beta testers". Other than that, I really see no reason why they are being "dumped".

Being sold does not mean they are not good. People changes gears due to various reasons.

Cheers!

Another PDT and PWD appeared on Agon today for 4K. Owner says it's a couple of months old. They are falling out of the trees.

Not a good sign, I am afraid...

Too bad... seemed like a groundbreaking product...

I passed on the beta deal because I didn't want to spend $4k to be the first off the gates. I may be a good move on my part.

I was not aware that the PWD has the Minimum phase Apodising filters built in. I was just looking at the manual on their web-site.

Jim.......When you read the PS Audio pitch on the website, the PWD seems to have all the right stuff, supposedly top line parts, plenty of user selected features, hand built in the USA, new MA selectable filter, and more. I can't figure what's not to like, especially when coupled with the PWT using the HDMI output to transfer I2S data to the PWD. I sounds like an incredible combination that should be producing amazing sound.

Dan,

Being fickle minded .... I may also sideline the combo if I have tonnes of money!

I did that before and presto, the gears are gone in a few months, Does that mean they are not good? I think I am the one that is not good (to truly appreciate their performance long enough)!

Changes are inevitable but are they really progress or just a figment of one's imagination that it is?

Cheers!

Jerry.......I understand your point completely. I have just done the same thing with the SF Cremona Auditor speakers. I have had them about a month, like them very much, but planning on selling them when the Guarneri Memento's arrive. There is nothing wrong with the Auditor's, they are just being replaced with another model. We all do it, that's for sure.
