It was more that I was agreeing with you that Power Conditioners, or at least in my case the PPP's, are not perfect. I wasn't inferring that you were trying to sell us on the gear.

I would have to agree since here I am on the 3rd power conditioner. This one is making me very happy so far. The PPP is also a keeper because it can easily be used for other applications and I plan on using it in the future for less critical H/T application. It just got bumped out of my main system for now by PurePower.

The only conditioner I have in place now is one of the first prototypes from Running Springs Audio. It is the purple haley. No conditioning on the amps at all yet. I had Vray and hydra 2 prior to this. I eventually just plugged the 2301's into the wall. The Dmitri and Dukes will have to wait till the racks are done doing whatever they are doing before they go in. Reason is I just want to hear what the racks do once complete without any changes. Joel from CMS said the conditioner wouldn't affect his racks break-in but it would be hard for me to say then if the racks made a change on there own. I will let you know on the RSA stuff at that time. The same guy that turned me onto the racks was also a big believer in RSA. What I hear is the RSA stuff on hi-current amps with either the Duke or Maxim will significantly improve dynamics and provide a lower noise floor resulting in a much better stage.

Well, another 3 days on the PurePower. It has gone through another bout of making my gear sound leaner and even grainy over a few days. Today it made my gear sound rich, smooth and full once again. I hope it stays that way as I really like that! This has been a rather unusual break in period as far as my experiences with power conditioners go. Can't argue with the results today though.

I belive the break in is complete as the PurePower now has over 300 continuous hrs on it since it's been powered up. Let me tell you, this one is a keeper. The sound stopped changing and the system remains dynamic, rich and smooth. This power conditioner has met my expectations and then some. I do not hear any tendency towards leaning out my system like I heard with the PS PPP so the "PurePower" is "PureHoney" to my ears.

Thanks to Jeff at A/V Solutions once again for spot on advice and turning me on to the PurePower and the great deal.

Serge how much better is it then the richard gray? Also do you plug your amps into it or just the front end?

John

My whole system is plugged into PurePower right now. Dynamics are superb.

Richard Gray is pretty good at isolating and getting rid of some hum issues with their Pole Pig and adds a nice dynamic punch with the 600S to the amps but it does not do what the PurePower and PS Audio PPP do which is convert AC to DC and back to AC for cleanest and most stable voltage for your gear possible. Therefore I discovered the PSA PPP and PurePower to have a very audible advantage when used with the front end and preamps. Any good power conditioner should bring a new found level of resolution due to a lower noise floor, deeper blacks/silence between notes and more importantly a calming and smoothing effect where the whole system has a more natural, relaxed sonic signature devoid of any grain, hash or edginess. Neither PPP or PurePower dissapoint, they are both excellent at that.

I did find the PPP to have a slightly cooling/leaning effect on my Lamm amps though so I was forced to unplug them from the PPP and run them from the wall. I noticed a bit of upper end glare again... Using the IsoGray configuration (600s+PolePig) restored the tonal balance but reduced dynamics... Out went the PolePig and just the 600s was used in parallel with the Lamm's.

The PurePower gave me an all in one box solution with no compromises. Rich, smooth, dynamic, just the way I wanted my system to sound.

I will be buying a few other PurePower models in the future for other gear.

Wow, what a stormy weekend we had in the NE... Brownouts and spikes, the AC was all over the place. I switched the PurePower display to "input power" and saw voltage as little as 103 and as high as 122... The "output" was a rock steady 120v the whole time and I was able to get some great listening sessions in both days.

Serge.......If I didn't already own four Power Plant Premier's, I would try the PurePower 2000. From all that you have reported, it seems to be a top notch power unit.
