I am so pleased with my PMC EB1i speakers, I have a hard time getting too excited about the PMC Fact line. It might be different if I were shopping speakers. I'd probably buy the EB1i's again even if I was shopping.

New speaker range? It's a 'fact', says PMC
Wednesday, 18 November 2009

The first product in the series, fact.8, is said to combine elegant design and a "groundbreaking audio experience". The floor-standing, hand-lacquered and polished veneer speaker cabinet design incorporates PMC's ATL (Advanced Transmission Line) technology and hand-built twin bass drivers.

The specification also features a wide surround SONOMEX soft-domed and feather-light tweeter to handle high frequencies, and controls at the rear of the speaker to enable the tailoring of bass and treble.

fact.8 is available in a host of finishes, including rich walnut, natural oak, tiger ebony and graphite poplar.

Keith Tonge, marketing manager for PMC, told IE Residential: "With the fact.8, the first of the new fact series, we feel that we have addressed the market with a product that exceeds the expectations of both audiophiles and the design conscious. The key to the design is simple elegance that follows the design cues of classic modern furniture that will complement an interior without creating a brash statement. The reception from the European CI and interior design sectors has been extremely favourable to date, which will only spur us on to create both larger and smaller models in the fact range, which are projected for the first and last quarters of 2010."

fact is the latest in a long line of high-profile product ranges from PMC, which counts Kraftwerk, Stevie Wonder, Tori Amos and the BBC among its distinguished clients.

Dan,

The Fact is very different from the big i-series models.... Until we come out with a model that can deliver the goods like your EB1i, I would enjoy all 13 feet of transmission line length at your disposal. When we do come out with the Big Fact, you would do well to check it out, at least.
