I'm not completely blind to the minor shortcomings of the McIntosh products i've heard.
Whilst their products may not exhibit the most extended frequencies.Aren't necessarily the most neutral.Perhaps don't reveal the most vivid detail.May not demonstrate the most expressive dynamics.They may not have the most expansive soundstaging.Nor do they have the most open presentation.
But,what they do well,they do brilliantly.Especially that magically mellifluous mid-range & silky treble.
I totally agree with your sentiments...Well,at least,i do now!

Hello to everyone at AA! My name is Mike, I'm a musician by trade and a music lover, naturally. I really enjoy the discussion here, and hope along the way I can chime in, not just watch. My system is an eclectic mix of vintage audio and PA pieces: Marantz 2015B, Dual 1225, Crown D-75 and XLS-802, Trace Elliot GP12SMX for sub EQ, DOD EQ and xover for tops (EV ZX1 8''), and 2 Bag End II dual 15 inch subs (JBL E-140s). All that mixed with a Studiomaster Diamond 8-2, and tied together with a Yamaha 2020B comp/limiter/gate. I have analog and computer-based multitrackers and Line 6 guitar and bass processing as well. As you can see, my spare time is well-spoken-for what with listening, recording and collecting records, cassettes and CDs. I'm from the St. Louis, MO area in IL.
