Hi folks,

I just found AA yesterday, and after some teething problems getting access, I can now post a proper introduction.

My name is Puma Cat, aka Stephen Scharf, and I've gotten back into audio back at the end of 2008 after over 20 years away (motorcycle racing and motorsports photography got in the way).

I'm a molecular biologist by profession with a background in human molecular genetics and molecular diagnostics. I'm also a Six Sigma Black Belt and I presently teach Voice of the Customer (VOC) and Design for Six Sigma to the other scientists and engineers that I work with (at a large biotech company).

Outside of audio, I enjoy motorcycling, bicycling, tennis, and photography.

Inside of audio, I enjoy classical, hard bop jazz, acoustic, and rock music.

My listening is 99% vinyl, but I just recently bought a uni player, so I've been listening to some digital content recently (not that I have much...).

My system is presently a Conrad-Johnson Premier 17LS preamp, a C-J LP70S power amp, EAR 834 P phono stage, Michell Gyro SE MkII TT, SME V, Shelter 501 MkII, Oppo BD-83 SE, and Dynaudio Contour S3.4 floorstanders. I've even recently bought some of my first Wireworld cables, which I like a lot.

Hi Jim,
Yes, I've been trying to figure out how to do Design of Experiments with respect to turntable set-up, but have yet to determine what the critical functional response could be that I could measure. The only thing I've been able to come up with would be channel separation in dB, but I need Dr. Feikert's set-up software to do that.
