Then I misunderstood your point. I thought you were alluding to my having posted owning several DSO recordings by Paray and Dorati and now Slatkin.

I think this is Slatkin's first release with the DSO so I figured I would give it a try. When I first played it back in early November I think I posted it was nothing special.

Well said Robert.
Julian, we've said it before: thank you!
And thanks to all of you! It is so nice to see some personal comments (going from a couple of words up to some real extensive and profound reviews!) on the music being played. From that you learn.
It enthuses to go into it and discover.
And the result is we often see there are "thematic periods", and a lot of us play the same music (like we had Corelli, Vivaldi's Nisi Dominus with Teresa Verganza, Jordi Savall...).
This is a good place to be!

Marin Marais: Pieces de Viole du Quatrième Livre (1717)

Jordi Savall, who else?!
I must say these are excellent recordings. This one is from 1977. The remaster is very good.
And the music? I'm liking it more and more. And I have been playing it so often lately...
