I would be interested if it has coax/optical/usb input that accepts 24/192 files. Also, a built-in digital preamp wouldn't hurt.

I assume all of the inputs will
handle 24/192 except possibly the USB. The MCD-500's do and I doubt they would go backwards.

No mention of a MC501 replacement on the site, but with a MC452 maybe they will just do away with the 500 watt monoblocks ? I am looking forward to finding out what the 2 new pre amps are going to be. I have been waiting for the announcement at Cedia to see what new pre amps are coming out. I have to say since I sold the C220 my listening has just about dropped to ZERO. The MCD500 has pre amp capabilities but the proof is in the lack of listening this whole summer.

You are dead right David. No cd preamp will match a good analogue preamp.

The new Pre-amps will be at CEDIA, but production and shipping is a whole other story.
