Gotcha...

Hi,
Will it be done while you wait, if you take it to the dealer?

More like no sound. I'll need to get the v1.0 file so I can reload it and then try the update again. It's a PITA!!!

McIntosh technical service reports the update by the dealer should take 15 to 30 minutes. I would expect most dealers would be willing to perform the update while you wait, especially if you make an appointment to do so.

It could be worse. I had an update of the engine control firmware for my car which took 5 hours while I waited. Typically, once the update begins you must complete it for the unit to operate properly.

Thanks Mike, I will a call to my dealer for an appointment, it's probably a good idea. Hope they don't keep me there too long, mcintosh mvp891 is temping. I might get carried away while waiting.

You must have a fancy car and they have to fly the tech to do it.

@HiFiGuy528: Try again. The first time I tried, it, my C50 got bricked. I ran the whole process again and it worked the second time around.

The update procedure itself is very simple, but the installation routines are a bit buggy. Add in the fact that you're trying to do it with an unstable and buggy OS (Windows) and it gets tricky.
