You are far more patient than I am (which isn't saying a lot...)

Me patient? ......if I didn't have this certain piece of equipment that's spending a lot of time in the batter's box, I'd be right along side you. Right now.... the Mc is in the on-deck circle waiting to get into the game....or maybe it could spend most of the time in the bull-pen.

Ron-C of McIntosh posted the following in another forum:
"The new update changes the USB input function from level 1 USB at 12 MHz to USB 2 at 480 MHz. Depending on how your computer is set up and the operating system, the C48/C50 music play back firmware, 2.00-2.10, can achieve very high performance.
I use JRivers, Win 7 and the McIntosh 2.0 Window's driver where this set up is asynchronous at up to 32 bits, and 192 KHz. The music package will always be 32 bits with the McIntosh 2.0 driver as this gives a nice cushion of at least 8 buits over 24 bit music.
JRivers operates the Windows internal music computer at 64 bits so it can perform volume leveling, clip protection and output format from 16 to 24 bits, and 44.1 through 192 in a bit perfect mode. You will need to use a USB level 2, A to B cable for proper operation.
This is about as good as USB digital audio gets."

So are the C48 & C50 updates now available? Can you upload the firmware from the McIntosh website?

Doug
The last I heard the updates were going to be made available to your Dealer. I am guessing once all registered owners are taken care of McIntosh will consider products on the secondary market.

I am sure that the updates will be out there pretty fast.

This is great news. I'm sure the MCD1100 update is on the way. Judging from how good my USB sounds even without the upgrade, I can hardly wait.
