Default Update works great!

I just wanted to let everyone know that I successfully updated my C50 to the new firmware. This was a big deal for me as I *ONLY* use my C50 via USB and having the 32 bit DAC was the only reason I bought it when it was released. I personally did not find the update process to be difficult, but I can understand how some may feel the process to be daunting.

I have been using it now for the last 4 hours straight and its working totally rock solid! Playing high resolution audio has never sounded better!

Thanks for posting the files Ivan! This saved me a lot of hassle!

Glad to hear you got it to work, IMC3PO! Please consider posting your subjective impressions of the C50's DAC in the "C50 USB Performance" thread, especially if you have any other DACs in your stable to compare.

First ... Thank You Ivan for posting the files.
I think I am about ready to try this upgrade.

I only see a few have posted they did it. I hope there are more ...

Any hints or tricks or tips ??

I will post again after it is done.

I think the best hint is to use a bog standard Windows XP machine. Don't use Windows running in an emulator.

Yes. Don't be like me and run Windows XP in a VM environment under Win 7 on a Mac. It doesn't like all those layers. My C50 is still at the shop struggling to come back to life.

Well....
I had some time and thought I would try the upgrade.
The first part went fine I now have firmware 2.0 in my C50.

Upgrading the usb not so well.
I get a msg " Error Device Initialization Failed "

Also does the usb upgrade affect the other digital inputs ?
None of those work. All the analog ones do work.

Any thoughts.
Tried windows XP and a Vista machine with no luck.

Will it allow you to run the update again? You do need Java on your XP box to install the USB update. Make sure you have that.
