The BP26 is out there, too, I should mention.

The LS27 has only two tubes ($130 or so per pair), but their rated life is 4000 - 5000 hours. Over the long haul that unit will cost more than a 2300. By the way, are the stock tubes actually that bad, so that most are quick to replace them, or is it that the Gold Lions, EAT, etc. are that much better?

I just purchased a C2300 and MC302 to start the building of my Mac system Back. I am still confused about the running in of the tubes. I just placed a order for some Tele's for the Line and MC Phono Stage from Andy at Vintage Tube Services. I have a Amp/Cable burner that puts a Dummy Speaker load of 200 watt's on the amp and whatever. You just plug your speaker cables into it instead of your speakers and then I put the CDP on repeat for about 150-200hrs in between listening sessions. My question is! Are the MC Phono Stage Tubes seeing any benefit of the burner when going thru the CDP, which uses the line stage, or are they out of the loop except when turning Vinyl to the right and playing a record thru it ?
Thanks,
Glenee

I was hoping that was not the case. It will be better in the end that they are out of the loop.I guess just get those records lined up and get to it.
Thanks Ivan,

It is easy. Steady hands was my only real concern. I was nervous I'd slip with the screwdriver and scratch my c2300. That didn't happen.

Do people really wear gloves while pulling and changing tubes? Fingerprints won't harm them, they're not like halogen bulbs.
