Default New products from Lamm

Lamm came out with 2 new preamps: LL1 Signature and LL2.1. I like the new look.

Probably the most beautiful pre I have ever laid my eyes on...

But, I AM NOT buying a pre with remote...

Just like the 71 911T is the most beautiful car, but I am not having a car with crank windows...

I found the lack of remote a little inconvenient with CD playback but I don't really miss it when listening to vinyl since they tend to be recorded with much less difference in levels. Anyways, once the music starts, one tends to forget all about inconveniences with Lamm gear.

I don't have any reason to right now. The M1.2 Reference amps are still current, my main preamp is the Ayre KX-R with the Lamm LL2D used on and off when I want a different flavor or want to compare tube to ss. The LL2.1 is not really different from the LL2D topology wise, other than a few little features.

One thing for sure, a preowned LL2D is a KILLER preamp for the money.

Serge,

Could you elaborate why there are separate left and right volume buttons in place of only one?

I ask you this because I would like this feature on my C1000: I don't know why (room shape, speaker place, my own ear perhaps...) but I have to play with the balance +3 (it means I guess +0.3db) to have right in the center the voices, on any input, and on C1000T and C1000P.

I haven't seen a schematic, but I venture that the dual volume controls without a balance shortens the signal path and affords more control compared to a balance knob.
