I was just curious if there were any Klipsch Heritage owners near South Bend IN area?
I heard a pair of Cornwalls back in the summer that sounded really awesome. Would like to do some more listening to compare them against my Magnepan MG 3.6's. Troy |

How critical is the setup on the Cornwall III's and what elecronics are you using with them? Thanks! Joe

First and foremost, WELCOME to AA! ![]() I have heard both the Cornwall III as well as the latest Magnepan 3.7. Over here, both sells about the same price. The deciding factor would be your amps. As I am having the 15 watter Leben, Cornwall III's would be the "automatic" choice as its a match for tubes as well as providing the very high efficiency needed to not tax the Leben and still sounding good. Well, the Cornwall III certainly is good. I have not heard the Magneplaner 3.6's before but the 3.7 is an obvious shocker. It is really very good, if you can take the bass for what it is. Of course, adding a great sub to match would bring the speaker to a very very high level of performance. By itself, it is already very good. I am able to hear this pair of speakers for a few occasion as the local dealer also handle Meridian to which I am very committed. The reason I am listening to other speakers, is to have a feel of what can match my Leben CS300xs "soup-up" integrated amplifier. So far, price viz-a-viz, these are 2 great speakers! Either one is great, except you need to consider the amplifier matching. Thats my 2 cents worth of opinion. Have fun in your hunt. Once again, WELCOME! Cheers!

IMHO, set up isn't really that critical. The CWIII's through out a HUGE, room filling sound stage. I've been "up and down" the Klipsch line over the years, and I think the CWIII's are the best by far (with exception of the mighty K-horn of course). Today, I'm using a McIntosh MA7000 + MCD301. A few years back I made the mistake of selling my MC275 + C45 combo and went to an integrated . I actually just sold my MA7000 and plan to go back to McIntosh seperates. A MC275 + CWIII combo is PURE MAGIC. Last edited by JWJW; 08-01-2011 at 07:41 AM. |
