Default sub choice

I wasn't sure which thread to post this under. I just seen a B&W ASW 855 Rosenut Subwoofer sell for $2800.00. That got me thinking of selling my ASW 855 for a JL Fathom F112. Reason: I hardly push my 15" to it's limits, in fact it's currently only set to less than 1/4 power consumption. It's also a very large sub taking up alot of real estate. I don't want to be disappointed selling my B&W and regretting the sale later. I can always have too much power and dial it down, but if I don't have enough, I can't add more. Just wondering if anyone has compared the B&W ASW855 to the JL Fathom F112 and can give me there opinion of the difference. I'll eventually be placing my sub on a basement floor. The basement is roughly 1500sq ft. 10ft ceilings. I will be creating an audio/video room so I will not be utilizing the entire basement. I want a sub that's fast, can recreate fast drum beats and kick drums. I do listen to rock, heavy metal, and piano, etc. I play all kinds of music, bass is a must. I also want something that sounds great for watching movies. I guess if 1 sub isn't enough I could add a second later. I don't want to sell my sub just to have an exact replacement. I actually expect a change for the better. hopefully I can audition both at my dealer although 1 sells B&W and the other sells JL so I can't do an a/b comparison unless im allowed to bring one home (doubt that). any objective opinions? Should I just keep what I have? I know when it's placed on a basement floor, I'll need to add more bass to my sub, my current wood sub floor and small room size prohibits heavy bass use. (approx. 10x12 room) and im sitting within 8 feet of my sub.
Thanks for your thoughts and opinions.

Objectively speaking, the JL will surpass the B&W, but unless you require a higher xover point, I would go with an F113.

I have the F112 in my basement 2 channel room , it is a great sounding sub. I have a velodyne sub in my home theater room which I plan to upgrade to another F112 in the future.

So, I assuming I would sell my B&W for the same price of $2800.00 would it be best to purchase the F112 and have a few bucks left over or purchase the F113? Is there that big of a difference, sound wise. OR better to purchase 2 smaller subs. Im currently at 60/40 split, leaning toward home theater, then 2 channel with subwoofer.

I own them both, I would go with the F112. Since you will probably come back for a second one.

I always deploy them in pairs.

He does seem to be able to do that! Almost reminds me of the Godfather sometimes.
