I hate to say it, but the JBL Aquarius 4 looks like a sidewalk lighting bollard in white. JBL called it "Visually exciting". Not.

It was different...I liked the walnut version better.

DJ.......I don't really understand what you mean about good JBL speakers not being available in the USA. There are plenty of models that are exactly the same speakers you are talking about sold here with a model number change. Not to mention that any of those models you posted can be purchased here. It's just a matter of how good your contacts are. It's a world market. You can buy anything you want if you just know where to shop.

Many years ago, at a boutique stereo shop in SF (Dan knows where this store is)......I compared the JBL L100's and the KLH 5"s

I chose the KLH 5's....sorry JBL fans....those KLH speakers sounded better than the L100's. That same shop also had the floor-standing L200's on display too. Brings back memories of old

Sorry Pete......It was just a matter of taste at the time

At the same time, I was even considering those lovely sounding Klipsch Heresy's that my friend had. Those KLH's were my very first pair of speakers in my young "audio hobby"

I didn't know. Who in the States can get them without outrages "special order" fees/prices?

Pete
Thanks Pete, It was the S109 Aquarius, in white. I had them as my "B" speakers and the Dahlquist DQ10 as my "A" speakers in a 24x24 room. At the time, it was very impressive and quite different
