Just looking at these JBL L100 speakers brings back a flood of fond memories. I have had many great times with a pair of L100's cranking out the music. These just sold on Agon for $350.00.

Back in the day, the mere sight of a pair of L100's at someone's home generated serious audio lust, especially if you didn't own a pair yet. My old MA230 integrated amp made my old pair of L100's sing. Come to think of it, the MA5100 and JBL 4312A's I have now rock pretty good together, even today.

Running numbers on the inflation calculator, that is approximately $3564 in today's dollars. Not much by today's standards but probably a lot of money back then when the audiophiles have not yet lost their minds and wallets.

Dan....sounds about right. I bought mine in 1977, and by then I believe they were up to about $800 per pair.

I sold my L100's in 1982 for $350, including the pair of JBL stands I had acquired. In 2005, the fellow I sold them to sold the stands back to me for $20. He still has my old L100's and loves them.

To this day I wish I still had my classic L100's, but at the time I needed the money to help buy my L220's, which at that time (1982) retailed at $1000 each. I was really lucky and icked up a pair of demonstrators for $550 each.
They still reside in my main system.
