Here is the JBL Opus from the 1960's with the very cool lattice grille. They could be ordered with LE75 horn drivers and may even be able to take the larger ones.

Cool! And that looks like perhaps a Marantz 3300 on top? Love that vintage marantz gear too...aw heck, I love ALL that vintage gear!

Hi
Was at a Hifishow in my hometown this weekend and there it was. It was the best sound I heard on that show. What a sound these speakers produced, phenomenal.
Thanks

I'll bet it is phenomenal.....yours is the first "firsthand" report I've heard. BTW, if you don't mind my asking, where is your hometown...aside from being on Planet Earth? Could you narrow it down a little?

In any event...thanks for posting your impressions of these gorgeous speakers...a dream speaker, IMO.

Mctwins.......Like Pete, I am pleased to hear a first hand report on the JBL K2 S9900 speakers. I have been a JBL fan for more years than I care to count, so it is always a pleasure to hear positive comments on their products. I would love to hear the K2 S9900 speakers. It does not surprise me they were the best at the show. Thanks for letting us know about it.

I would like to hear them if they are supposed to sound that good. That type of design is not something I would normally find to my taste. (big woofer and horn drivers)

Hi
It was in Sweden, Malmo. The speakers was driving with the Mark Levinsson No 532 monaural amp, pre and Cd-player. The speakers go down to 48Hz(35Hz -10dB) but the bass was deep and tight, thou. That was impressive to experience. There was another speakers of brand Revel Ultima Salon 2 but when he switched between these two, the JBL outperformed Revel with ease.
I am to a big fan of JBL speakers for a long time, had once a pair of SVA1800 driving whith Quad 405, sounded good too. But these K2 is in another level. But it is not cheap, around 40000 euro. I would like to hear Project Everest
Thanks
