Pete......Same for me with the JBL 4312A speakers. I walked in, told the sales guy to bring up a pair, paid, loaded them up, and auditioned them at home. No regrets. Still have them, driving them with a McIntosh MA5100, and they still sound great. They sold in seperate left and right pairs.

Pete.......Oh, yeah. A glossy JBL brochure on a new speaker can put some serious lust in an audiophile's heart, and quick! I have experienced the rapid heartbeat myself, along with the uncontolled desire to through my checkbook balance to the wind. Yep, been there before, more than once.

I've heard a few mailgn the L220, or say they weren't impressed by them. However, I don't agree. They've a lot of potential, and the better the gear you put behind them, the more you realize it. The have great coherency and depth of image. Their design addresses quite a few issues, as pointed out in the ad. The weak point may be that the midrange doesn't use the compression driver ala the L300, but I believe its tower design and the 076 ring radiator tweeter make up for it. Add a B460 sub, and you have a great synergy. At low levels, the L220 is extremely revealing.

Back on topic: If given a blank check, the K2 S9900 would be in here faster than you could say JBL.
