Two Dot, Well like I already said the 1000's blow away the 250Ti's which sounded very much like the McIntosh LS-360's. I can say these are the best horn speakers I have ever heard! Not saying the best ever speakers because I've heard Wilsons! They do not come across as sounding honky as some horn type speakers do. They are very 3D in imaging. I was listening to Nora Jones all morning and I couldn't believe how real these sound. These sound about as much like you sitting in a club listening to live music. OK, now everybody has in their heads what the perfect speaker sounds like. I'm a JBL guy! In my family I always listened to music through JBL's. When I worked in audio sales (1989 and 90) the store I worked at didn't sell JBL's, ( in the US by then JBL was pretty much gone as far as the high end) but sold B&W, Martin Logan, McIntosh, Klipsch, Boston, and M&K. To be honest none of those did for me what JBL did. Given my pick of any speaker at any cost I'd still go with JBL only it would be the Everest. Being semi retired costs must be kept down so at a price point I can go with, these are what I like, the Array 1000's. Cheers, Frank

It sounds like you have finally found the speakers you have been looking for. Once you hear that special sound and it sticks in your head, nothing else will do. Isn't it fun to be able to try out the gear wherever you want it when the spouse is out of town. ![]() Jim

Jim, yes it is so nice! Lately it's been said of me,"you must be loosing your hearing because the volume level keeps going up". This was said having to do with movies and TV shows. I feel that I didn't buy all this sound equipment not to enjoy what it will do. To me a movie just sounds better and is more enjoyable if it is listened to a bit loud. Good thing she isn't here this morning cause the 1000's are cranking! Yes, still happy into day 2 living with them. I was so glad to see that JBL hasn't lost a step in the wood finish department. This high gloss mahogany is just beautiful! I recall when I first saw photo's of this series of speakers almost two years ago I wondered why JBL was using grille cloth on the top of the cabinet. As it turns out it isn't grille cloth at all , but a very hard charcoal colored rubber like material that is the same color as the grille cloth and the horn section. These will be used for 2 channel listening only and will not go into service in the theater. When I listen to music it's either in the living room or my "museum" in the basement which is not the same room as the theater. I'd love to use these in the living room, but the 250Ti's will stay there. They are my wifes favorite looking speaker. (It's the teak wood, but not just that because she doesn't like the teak 240Ti's at all!) I guess if a speaker that big has her seal of approval I should just go with it. In the theater i'm using the JBL SVA 1600 and a SVA center along with Klipsch side and rear surrounds. JBL has nothing that hangs on the wall the way that Klipsch does using horns.
