Default AXPONA - Jacksonville, Florida

AXPONA, the Audio Expo North America show is this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at the Omni Hotel, Jacksonville, Florida, sponsored by Stereophile and The Absolute Sound. Anyone planning on attending?

If I can get a day off work this weekend, I might go and check it out. Looks like it should be a decent show.

I was there last Saturday. Highlights for me were the MBL 126 monitors and the Joseph Audio Pulsars (playing in the Channel D room). Wasn't as impressed with the KEF Blade speakers as I had hoped to be, but their lesser priced R Series speakers were surprisingly good. And the YG Acoustic room was easily the most disappointing IMO.

I'd be happy to post more detailed thoughts for those that are interested.

I snapped a few from my phone, but regrettably the lighting sucked and I didn't have a chance to return with my real camera. I'll post what I have over the weekend.

I understand there were only 28 rooms. I wonder if this event will be able to survive.

Interestingly, RMAF last year had tons of room and demos but the crowds were quite light. So I worry a bit that some of these events may disappear. This would be an issue since audio dealers continue to be "endangered species" and getting to see/hear audio gear is more difficult.

All roads may lead to Ivan's new shop at the Cape!

I'm not sure that I would have categorized RMAF as light. I thought it was down a little bit.

I think you might find numerous exhibitors who would suggest that traffic was light, relatively speaking.
