Good point! But I already have two SACD players and I don't have any DVD-A discs.
The bad part about this Denon is that it doesn't worth much on the used market.

Like computers most video products become throw aways. The technology changes to fast.

I've been the same with on the music side with my Mac Mini. My CDs mostly stay in storage, with the SACDs and LPs getting play for most critical listening. If you're going to sell it in the foreseeable future, sooner is probably better than later because the price probably will move in only one direction.

Mike, it is still a nice piece of gear.
Great video player for sure. You really can't see/hear a difference between the less-lossy DVD vs the ripped version?

I picked up a 5910ci for 1k off Cruthfield for a decent sacd player for the office headphone setup - amazing bargin for an excellent player. I'm suprised they nose dived so much in the used market, some depreciation, sure - but ever dvd universal player they used to make is just pennies now, great time to buy.. not sell.
For whatever it's worth from a newbie to the forums DJ, I would keep the 5910 around until it falls over, I don't think many players are going to surpass it's DVD up scaling performance. Depending on how vested you are in DVD it might make sense to keep with it. By the way - are you using Plex on your mac mini? I've recently setup an old core 2 duo mini for plex use and it's just amazing, far better then running the 60ft HDMI+toslink cable from my Mac Pro's secondary display
