I agree that the height channels could be neat. Like most others, however, I'm sticking with 5.1. I think it's impractical for just about anyone that doesn't have a dedicated theater. That said, there are people that have dedicated theaters.

I found this a very interesting read... I've thought about height channels from time to time in the past.. Didn't realize they were actually coming so soon. I'd definately be interested..
I wonder if the mx150 would be compliant? (cause that's what I'm sticking with for at least 8-10 years lol) |

I must say this is quite the Reciever it must have A pretty hefty Transformer to put out that mutch power into that many channels.I still have my very dependable 3802 with A 5.1 setup and it sounds great but need to upgrade soon, don,t know if I,ll go Denon or Marantz though.Tough call.THX Jim

jimimac, I alos have the 3802. It has been a great machine, but with Blue Ray, I would love to have HDMI switching. I also just started a turntable setup, and would like something a little more upscale for two channel stereo playing.
Have you looked at the Rotel receiver? i think it is the RX-1560?
