Default Ivan please help

Using Beyerdynamic T5p cans with Beyerdynamic A1 headphone amp.
Source of music for this application will be mainly iPod. I think I want to bypass the Ipod DAC and use an external DAC. Does this require a Wadia 170i and a DAC with coaxial input?
What do you think?

Thanks,
Darryl

Yes for price. But I welcome and would appreciate any input on the subject. If I am heading in the right direction.

Thanks

Sounds like you have the right plan - you certainly want to avoid the DAC in the iPod, and the only way to do that is either not using an iPod or using something like the Wadia.

That's what I've found as well.

Thank you.

For portable use, I know of two products that circumvent the larger iPod's (and iPhone's) internal DAC: the Cypher Labs Algorhythm Solo (often called CLAS) and the Fostex HP-P1. I've heard the former, and it's quite good. One nice thing about the latter is the built-in amplifier, so smaller and even more portable.

I ordered a Wadia get a Digital format and input the sisnal digitally ontof Bryston DAC to try and extract the best sound possible and send it to myBeyerdynamic A1 Head Phone Amplifier.
Just my thought,
Darryl

Wondering if I can help --- Do you have a question at this point, or are you just reporting on your selection?
