So, now I have about 4 hours of listening in on the new DAC.

Everything about the sound has improved.

The highs are more distinct
The mid range seems a little warmer
The lower bass notes are more present then before

I listened to music I am very familiar with and I am able to hear more detail then before. Lyrics that in some cases in the past seemed a little muddled, were easier to hear now. The softest musical passages come through with ease.

The sound seems to have more depth, and seems a little more analog sounding then the PS Audio.

The PS Audio with the Cullen Mods was no slouch as a DAC, but the Bryston sounds like I made the right decision.

All in all I am very pleased.

I really love it when you feel like you want to listen to your whole music collection all over again.

Later today or tomorrow AM I will post a couple of pics.

Chuck.......Being excited to dig into your music collection all over again is a blast. I know the feeling. Thinking about it puts a smile on my face. I am pleased to hear the Bryston BDA-1 is blossoming.

Guys, I ordered one today as well. My BCD1 order went in a week ago but I'm seeing the need for a DAC down the road with the move away from CD. I'll be sure to let you know how the BCD sounds on its own as well a going into the BDA. Now, just waiting for the SP3. Currently using a McIntosh MX120 and will use the 2 channel setting. Not going to leap to a Bryston preamp.

Dave,

From my experiences with the DAC, I think you will be very happy with the sound.

Congratulations.

Hi,

I just sold my BCD. Only so to free up funds for my new 14B. I would never have sold it otherwise. It really is a nice touch with the BDA. The sound is very close on it own and partnered with the BDA. It gives you the remote too that controls the BDA. Down the road i will need to go back and purchase a BR2 remote. It shuffles through files on your music library with windows. Very nice touch with your laptop.

Recieved mine yesterday! This ain't no cigar box

converter, the BDA-1 feels solid, has nice footers on it

as well, mine sits perfectly flat not warped, even the

top cover is hefty. These are all pluses for me,this is

a quality made piece. With the funds I have available

buying equipment of this caliber is difficult and I need

them to last(KUDOS Bryston).
Only had time for a couple of albums, sounding good

so far! This is my 1st piece of Bryston gear, very

impressed.

THANKS James

Chuck.......How about an update on the new Bryston BDA-1. I'm guessing you have it well broken-in by now. How is it sounding?
