I agree, not all their current dealers carry the 800 series.

Aren't most B&W speakers except the top line made in China these days?

Yup! Most. Even the Tannoys are not spared. I suppose this applies to most gears ... except for the exotic few which are STILL design and manufactured at their "hometown".

Yes. I am not sure if any of their product except for the 800 Series is still made in the UK.

What was that song from the 80's, "We're turning Japanese, we're turning Japanese"? Except now insert, "Chinese". I wonder what will happen, now that Chinese workers are demanding higher wages and beneies. They (workers) were commiting mass suicide to prove their point. I know of several Austrian firms that have since closed their Chinese facories, because studies proved they really did not safe any money, when all was said and done.

It is not only the wages that are rising in China, freight costs had been going up rather quickly.

I remember a few years ago California was running out of storage space for sea containers. It was actually cheaper to build a new one than to ship the empty back to China.

Default 805 vs 805D

Dropped by the local B&W emporium and auditioned a set of 805s. They were outstanding. Last time I listened to B&W was more than a dozen years ago and the new models I heard today are a far cry from what I recall from last century. Am wondering if the 805D is that much of a step up from the standard 805? Thanks.

Formerly, where did you go...Overture or WorldWide? What other B&W models did you see on display?
