The HTM1D is absolutely HUGE. Too bad B&W doesn't make it anymore.

It's looks awsome on the ground, probably solidfies the lowend... its just so damn big it's hard to have a front room Mcintosh display and still have the center not interfer with the television view height.. etc. Hmmmm what to do?

It's a good problem to have to deal with though. :P

Incredible looking room dude. Do the 800Ds get a bit boomy in that size of room (not that I can see its length!) or are you sorted? I bet they're truly awesome...

I have 800D's in a small room and to be honest the 802D's were looser in the same room. The room is treated but I have never heard the 800D's get boomy. I guess it can happen if you place them up against a wall. The bass from the 800D is extremely tight to the point that you are forced to get an amp that can produce high current to get the drivers moving to achieve the incredible bass they are capable of.

As for having it on the ground, I too found it a little strange, though the pics don't show it, it is adjusted so it is tilted upwards at the sitting area. I am still thinking of having the guy who did my amp stands build me something to match and lift it off the ground. Plus with the spikes and 200 lbs, I can barely move the big sob!
Well then, a trip to the gym is in order !

Seriously, I think raising the center channel speaker is a good idea, too. Even though tilted, the sound is still coming from below the plane of the other speakers. But it's still a great-looking (and sounding, no doubt) system.

Welcome to AA!

Definitely not boomy, my room is 17 feet wide, and the back wall is not rectangular, going from about 40 feet on one side to about 36 on the other. The bass is nice and tight...

Updated pic with my new center stand...it lifts the HTM1D as much as I could without blocking the bottom of the screen..

to show the height:
