If you don't mind my asking...who is the manufacturer of the center channel speaker stand?

My set-up includes 3 501s, HTM1, and N801s (not the diamonds)

Which, by the way, I was wondering how the diamonds compare to the non-diamonds?

The center speaker stand is the B&W stand...I am thinking of either putting something under it to get it a few inches higher or replacing it...the stand is fine, but I would like to get the tweeter a little higher, to get it closer to the height of the 800Ds tweeters.

I have noticed that the rears blend much better, so the surround feeling is enhanced. I think this is a function of the tweeters as well as going from 805s with less low end and the 803Ds obviously have more.

A dealer near me has brand new 802D speakers in rosenut (last years model) discounted from 15 grand to 10 grand. That is a smoking good deal

Yes, I added the HTM1D...luv it, massive difference in unifying the front sound stage (though I wasn't compaining before!).

A few pics:

Cheers!

Mike

Mike, that looks great. I've always had a hard time getting my head around that big boy on the floor vs. being on a stand. I haven't heard it, so my perspective is one of ignorance.

Haha, yes!

Listening to SACDs & S+DVDAs on my oppo makes for a pretty sublime experience...Dire Straits Brothers In Arms just fills the room. Like I mentioned, it wasn't that I was complaining previously, but the big guy really fits with the 800Ds!

As for having it on the ground, I too found it a little strange, though the pics don't show it, it is adjusted so it is tilted upwards at the sitting area. I am still thinking of having the guy who did my amp stands build me something to match and lift it off the ground. Plus with the spikes and 200 lbs, I can barely move the big sob!

Great point about the angle, and I've no doubt you've taken everything to the next level. Moving that center's about as hernia-inducing as that MC303!
