Default B&W Nautilus.....Where are you?

Has anyone listened too or even seen the B&W Nautilus Speaker? (Besides the WebSite....lol)
Anyone know the price and how it compares to other speaker's in it's price range. The largest B&W speaker carried by any audio store in my area is the 800.
The Nautilus is a different looking speaker, if it really is B&W's greatest, they must sell it, right? Other manufactures, Wilson and Mac display there $100.000.00+ speakers, why not B&W Nautilus!

Any B&W dealer can get the Nautilus. At last check, it takes over a year to get them. Due to the economy you may be able to get them sooner, though.

It isn't something they typically stock since you can get it in any color you want.

I have never heard them powered up, but have seen and touched them - they are of impeccable build quality.

I wouldn't buy anything without listening to it first. I guess it will be a problem If it takes a year to get them and no guarantee they will sell. I can't see any dealer making that step unless they know it's sold. Kinda like the HTM1D. I would love to listen to one and compare to the HTM2D but my dealer will not order it unless it's sold. I can understand there point, it's alot of money for them to buy it, display it, and if it doesn't sell, they will take a hit selling as a display unit later.
Any idea the cost of the Nautilus? B&W's website said it only comes in Midnight, Blue, and Silver colors. but doesn't list the price.

Don't know now since they have done all those price increases, but I would say $85-$100K.

I've gotta be honest, I don't understand the allure of the Nautilus when compared to something like the 800/D or 801D. No diamond tweeters, only +/- 1 dB down to 40hz, and frankly, I'm not huge on the design. It's a great speaker, doubtless, but the low end on the 801D is better, the highs on either that or the 800D are probably sweeter, and the price on either is much nicer. Just thinking aloud.

That said, if a set showed up on my doorstep, I wouldn't turn them away.

wanderfowl, not the 800 series Nautilus. I mean the signature Nautilus. The top of the line B&W. I have a set of 802d's. The one Im speaking of is NOT an 800 series nautilus vs. diamond. It's a completely diff. speaker. Some of the technology was used for the 800 series. Here is a link. http://www.bowers-wilkins.com/display.aspx?infid=1457
It's very unique looking speaker, I would like to listen to it just to see how it sounds. Way out of my price range.

I saw one Nautilus, not one pair, at my dealer. They have it on a turning platform right in the lobby. It will require 8 mono amps or 4 stereo amps just to drive it. Looks OK, I prefer the look of Stradivari from SF though.

I was there! Very nice people. I wish all B&W dealers are like them.
