Not sure if Wilson's are really an upgrade to B&W's. Maybe I'll upgrade to the 800d. The dealer is paying me more money for a trade than I originally paid. Not much more, but still, there a used and a year old. I can't believe there worth MORE.
There both great sounding speakers, not sure if one is better than the other. More of a personal preference. Probably like comparing Mac to Classe. well, no comparison... my classe sales person think classe is better obviously, he sell's it. biased opinion.

Anyone upgraded from 802D's to 800D's? Was it worth the $? My MC1201's should be able to keep up. I have read were some reviewers actually preferred the 802D's. Not sure if $ was factored in their decision. To me, my 802D's could use a little more bottom end on most of music I listen too. However, some like Lee Ritenour for example, sound great. I know I could add a sub, but in my past experience you seem to give up some clarity in the mid-bass to low frequency. Being a drummer and listening for the attack on the bass drum, I've found a sub seems to muddy-up that region. At least with 2-channel. I have tried lowering the cross-over point, changed phase and location. Always sounds cleaner without a sub but leaves me wanting more low end impact. I would like to see a 800 ser. with two 12" woofers. That could be the money! I think most would agree that the tweeter and midrange could keep up. A 15" is a little big or in my mind not as quick as a 12".
Any thoughts?

We're running 803's for our mains, an older CC6 as a center and in-walls mounted in the ceiling for the rear surrounds. The good part is that the 803's are driven by McIntosh MC501's (500 WPC monoblocks) that aren't in the picture.

They are in my bedroom so they are not exposed to much traffic.
Replacement tweeter are around $1,100. Anyone have a better source?
Using MC2200, MC1201's, MR78, MVP861, MCD205
Finally got the replacement tweeter in and installed. You sometimes forget what your missing... Only a $1,200.00 thing!
