Just what is it, I ask myself, and all of you, that makes JBL so popular? Can I try to give a reasonable answer, one that rings true? I think they are so prominent beacause everyone from casual audio fan to serious musician to full-blown audiophiles recognize the quality, whether it be how good they sound, how well they're built, or how long they last, or how timeless their styling is. I know from owning the pro models that they can take anything I can throw at them in terms of fat, loud bass guitar playing. I've blown more mid grade 15's trying to get the sound of E-140's but now I have 4 of them. I need not worry now. My Crown XLS 802 loves them, a match made in heaven. The same config works wonders as subs in my home set-up. What more could you ask for?
